hello everyone, i have disappeared for a while i know, probably none of you know me anyway.... so here's a new technique being used to detect radars, some kind of database is being made with speed camera locations added in with their co-ordinates on earth, these databases are updated and downloaded to some GPS enabled phones that actually can read these databases, then when the GPS receiver receives a FIX it checks with the database to see if it's anywhere near any of the speed cameras, and if it's within 400-300 Meters it'll let u know about it...... at the moment there are websites with databases of UK and sweden i have heared, and there's a phone "neo1973" running OpenMoko by FIC will be fully open source, so just by the help of some programmers this feature will be enabled and if we can all help each other and make a database of all the speed cameras in here and their co-ordinates that'd be great...

Guys.. beware of the radars in corniche. Those radars can catch you even after crossing it for up to 200 - 400m. So the usual bow and go technique wont help here.

Enjoy radar hunting !!!

When will cameras be installed on traffic signals? People jump reds too many times without any precautions.

By anonymous• 20 Sep 2007 12:06
anonymous

If it will help the traffic situation at all then it will be good. Jumping the red light is very dangerous and there are not enough cameras to cover this as yet.

1- I saw these guys with my own eyes on Al Khour street doing this.

2- The Traffic department manager stated that in the local newspapers and that those would be there all over the streets and it is under the Traffic Manager Administration himself.

Wonder, how can we make money here ...

Be careful and try to keep your speed also the same before and after the radar. You will find these days some cars, parking before or after those radars and those got moving and not still radars too.

These Radars are very visible. I dont think a list is needed keep your eyes on the road.

If you can't change your fate, change your attitude.
