Where to find white arabic men's robe?
By Think-Twice •
Hello shopping experts,
I have seen Arabic men wearing those white robe (what are they called?) and it seems very comfortable to local weather. I would like to make one for wearing as well.
Could anyone advise, where could I find a tailor to make those robe (or any tailor can make)? What are the best fabric (e.g. cotton, linen) to make those robe? How much should I expect to pay to get a reasonable-quality one?
Thanx.

Thans amnesia... I am thinking of wearing my white sport shoes instead of those scandals ...

There are many styles of course. I prefer the sharp look.
I'll take a picture of one I've JUST gotten tailored.
As for fabrics, white's are not just whites, they have different feelings, slight patterns, and shades.
I prefer a greenish white rather than a beige or bluish for example.
Thobes are indeed very comfortable.
Ask the tailor for their best fabric and they'll do the rest and ask you what you want.
It'll cost 200 riyals (around that)
Remember, you need some nice sandals (I recommend Tamimi)
Some sirwal (the pants underneath the thobe)
A Fanila (white vest)
Ghitra and 3igal (the headress which is bought seperately. There are places in the Old Souk)
Ga7feeya (little cap underneath the headress to keep it from slipping)
Alot of people don't wear the headress though.

You can buy them ready made in the Souks, every other stall sells them. A good quality ready made one is about 70qr there.
name is disdash or thobe if you come from Saudi
YOu could buy them ready made or get it stitched. There are many tailors over here who do exclusively this. like
LEXUS tailors - you will find them in Alsadd, Mirghab etc.
