we just did it in the eid hols .

infact we drowe straight to muscat the only border that took time was the UAE entry. we also drowe down to salalah from muscat. if u want to visit dammam check yr saudi transit will have a 3 days halt in saudi can do that too we went to riyadh on our way back.

the guys at UAE entry hardly know english & r tooooooooo..... lazy

first obtain a saudi transit visa round trip it will cost 75qr per person can have it done by the agent near sana r/a.

once that it done u can leave provided u have all the car papers in yr name with no bank loan.

PL CHECK WITH UAE EMBASSY IF U R ELIGIBLE FOR ENTRY VISA

at saudi entry point u will have to take car ins if u intend to stay over a week ask for a 15 days ins or u will have to take an ins again when u enter. the saudi stretch is 129 kms & u will reach the exit. not a prob they r fast.

u then enter UAE. u will need to go in to get yr visa fill the form wait in the queue & have it done. NOT TO FORGET THE EYE TEST it will be dont there. they will take anywhere from 45 mts to 150 mts. just yr luck( let us know how lucky u were).

dont forget to take an ins before u exit or u will be stopped at the gate.

its about 370 to 390 kms to abu dhabi. lovely road enjoy the ride. u have good petrol pumps to use the wash & have a snack.

all the best to driving in dubai its a mad house.

enjoy yr trip

u will have to go by road via saudi border

so u require saudi visa and then dubai visa

u can get visa on arrival provided u have all documents

since the car is in your name and u have all papers

it shud not be a problem

u can get the maps xeroxed from internet for shortest route

it will take about 7 - 8 hrs driving at 120 kms per hr

main time will go in saude border checkpoint

You could catch train number 666, then bus number 777, then trolly #13. They will take you somewhere in Qatar, Saudi then Dubai. J/k only.

That will be something to learn in how to do it....
