Does any one know any details about this E-card that can be used at the airports at the immigration counters upon arrival in Doha? I have seen a few guys walking thru this special channel without having to stand in any of the ques. What qualifies a person to get the card and how do you go about getting one?

nefertiti - i don't think you're talking about the same thing. The e-gate card means you skip the passport control queues when you enter and exit the country.

Obviously you can't skip these queues if you have to purchase a visa upon arrival, so you can't have an e-gate card.

You need to take along your resident ID and a credit card to pay 150QR for 1 year or you can pay more for up to 3 years.

If you go into the departure door and turn immediate right the office is in front of you by the ATM machines.

They take the details from your ID they take your photo for the card and your right and left index finger prints and also do an iris scan. This all takes about 5 mins. Then they issue your card there and then.

The card then allows you to bypass passport control and the long queues this causes in and out of the airport by entering the booth. you swipe your card and the machine takes your finger print and your iris scan to confirm who you are and lets you through.

They are really good if you are travelling in and out of the country on a regular basis as passport control can take ages.

Keep Smiling :-) you never know who is looking

It's called e-gate. You have to have a resident visa to get one (and QR150 or similar). You get one in the office on the right as you enter the departures building.
