Do a web search 'baby led weaning' By the age of 6 months babies do not need their food pureed, they can feed themslves with any food you offer. Although it is generally accepted that egg is not introduced for at least one year because of potential allergy.

It's best to check with your baby's doctor, but this website has some great information about solid foods for babies. http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/

Good luck... solid foods are a whole new world of adventure for your baby!

cereals- rice, oats - cooked and pureed

veg like peas and beans - cleand and skinned - steam and puree

bananas - mashed

apple - steamed and pureed

pl introduce in small quantities

some experts recommend the four day rule - continue one food for four days to observe for allergies.

do not introduce more than one new food in one day.

introduce new foods only in the morn - so if baby has

allergic reaction - u can consult doctor quickly

if baby refuses a certain food continuosly give a break and try again after a month.

hope this was helpful

oatmeal, applesauce or any other pureed fruits and veggies (with no added sugar). Mine used to especially love mashed bananas :-)

try introducing your baby to infant cereal mixed with infant milk or breast milk(if yourr still breast feeding) before you introduce them to any vegetables, give them a chance to get the hang of eating. You can google this questions and you will get a lot of professional opinions, as when you are about to intoduce solid food you have to be aware of potential allergies that your baby might experience.
