I was at Toyoya Tower Signal going from Dasman Center to Al Sharq route and I have a strong feeling that I crossed the traffic light in YELLOW/ RED and my photo has been clicked. The online system does not say any voilation but i believe it will take some time for it come to the system.
Can any one tell me what is best way to explain that it was a genuine mistake and fine should not be levied. PLEASE HELP. I do not wish to pay 6000 for crossing the YELLOW light. thanks for yout input. cheers
You mentioned that you crossed the light at 'yellow' and then got stuck in traffic. If this was the case then it is totally ur fault coz if you have not yet noticed, there is a sign board at every intersection (attached to the signal post and pained bright 'red') that says "DO NOT BLOCK THE INTERSECTION' and it is exactly what you have done even though you could see that there was traffic and the light turned yellow.
If not the above case, do not pay the fine but argue your case with the traffic department coz it you pay the fine it is taken as an admission of ur guilt.

No need to worry about that. They shall review your picture and video and I am sure you shall not get any penalty.
Dear All, Thanks for taking time to share your views. I am Indian (not Qatari!). Changed my profile if that matters. Also I am sure it was yellow when i crossed it. However, when i was in mid of interstection it turned RED and i was stuck with the traffic and hence the photo was clicked. It all happened on 20th Feb i.e Friday (yestrday).
My question is how can i fix this and explain my side of the story. Where should i go? Also should i take some one who knows arabic as i dun know the language? thanks again.

if it is really clicked , there is no way going back
it takes 3-4 days to come to the MOI website ?.Did you register the Hukooomi.Net ?.... then you will get the alert SMS in your mobile. I got like this, when I got a traffic fine

don't check the profile because that's not true so many people do that.i can prove it many time's.
any way u just wait for few days for the pinalty....

If it's red it's red. Don't do through.

that you are a Qatari (gen mistake)

while it was yellow nothing to worry, but when you crossed it while it was red then you have to pay the amount weather it was deliberate or not doesnt count here.
But I have a strong feeling that by the way you explained

Would not agree with Calimity, if you go throught the light and get snapped, you pay, Qatari or expat, no matter.
But if you went through on the YELLOW, you should be OK. If you did get snapped, you can always go to view the photo and it should show whether yellow or red.
If it was red, well then you wnet through a red light and will have to pay. It matters littel whether you went through by mistake or on purpose (nor, really, should it matter).
Not being racist, but your profile says you are a local, as in you are from Qatar. You will probably get away with it.
If you are not a local, you may be stuffed!
