falling in love with doha today

At last after one year of wait we were seeing clouds full of water. I am used to so much of rain in my home country, that everytime during the rain I used to come out in our lawn to see everything getting wet. Today as we planned a trip to Rumaillah Park for {bidda park} having a cup of tea and let the kids play. Thats how we thought of ending this weekend with the kids and the family time. We reached the park around 4:20 it was dark and looked like late evening. A pleasant breeze blowing, lightning after every 5 to 10 seconds, we were still thinking ,Oh its not gonna rain and even if its gonna rain we will walk to our car easily because its a doha rain slow slow.

But to our surprise within a few minutes everyone in the park including us were running for shelter. I saw a lot of smiling faces and everybody was enjoying that moments. The kids found a play for themselves and they started counting seconds between each lightning. Everything looked so beautiful today that it reminded me of my country indeed weather has a very important role in attitudes of people. Today after 2 years I started liking Doha. we had so much fun today indeed it was a good day before the start of hot summer.Enjoy!

It doesn’t matter where I have been raised. I just don’t like sandy rain, and dirty yellow messy puddles…

Could do without the weird cement-like mud but it's a small price to pay...

I love the downpours, love the thunder and lightning.

Love it love it love it.

Bring it on!

Yesterday 10 seconds exactly before the pouring rain, I was in the car parked in front of Subway, ready to go out and get myself, sister and mum sandwiches. But all in a sudden, rain drops couldn't wait to reach the ground. Each drop racing on touching the ground first. My mum was like "No way you're going out in this mess, I was like "You kidding me" and opened the door and flew to the restaurant's door. When I got to the door, it said "Pull" instead I "pushed, just to waste time under the shower. But too bad, Subway had a swinging door, in both cases it opens :( So I found myself inside already. :)

When I got it, I started watching the rain drops from behind the glass. I was only watching the ground, it looked beautiful, those drops touching the ground. I then smiled, and kept on smiling. I remember the last time it down poured, was around 9 years ago. It reminded of good childhood memories in Doha.

"Better in time...down just like that"

Don't understand what's so good in wild wind and water mixed with the sand pouring from the sky and making ugly mess on the ground...
