hello everyone!
Just wanna ask, how do i send money to a checking account in US, specifically Bank of America? Which bank or remittance center here in Doha can i send it thru. THANKS!
You can just give instruction to your bank or just go in and have it transferred. I do this each month.
If there is any way to get to know the bank managers, do so. This solved a helluva lot for me because now all I do is do a letter to them, sign it and scan it through and email it to them.
You can send it from your bank. But it is easier and cost less to do it through Al Sadd Exchange, on Al Sadd Street. You need to have the account number in the US and the Routing number as well.
I send a part of my salary to BofA each month using my Qatar bank's (CBQ) website. The first time you make a transaction you will need the SWIFT number (you can search for this on BofA's website) and the account number. After that it saves the information and then you just click on 'transfer' and enter the amount you want to send.
Just so you know, CBQ charges QR65 for the service and BofA charges an incoming internation transfer charge of $12 USD each time you send something.

I think you can send it by the Commercial Bank of Qatar.
