Can my girlfriend move to Doha

I've heard that there's strict laws on living together if you're not married.

I'm moving to Doha in the next couple of weeks, my girlfriend is not sure if she should come with me. Most of the serious advice I've read is people will turn a blind eye. However although I'm European she is Thai - will people still turn a blind eye? I don't want someone mistaking her for a Prostitute and calling the police! An added complication is she is separated from a previous Husband in the UK (husband also Thai). If we got caught would the punishment be worse because she's married? Also would I be punished or just her?

To be honest from what I've heard, it's not allowed for unrelated guys and girls who aren't married to live in teh same place. Way back in the dim and distant past it was allowed, but then they changed the law and it's no longer possible. SO long as u guys are discreet about it, there shouldn't be any problem with you visiting each other in u're respective places (unless you have particularly nosey neighbours).

But just don't let anyone know she's seperated - just for your own safety don't start experimenting! The way rules are applied here are 'fruity' to say the least and are at best according to what mood the authorities happen to be in that day.

...to get her into the country.Once you are here, other things like living together can be worked out. Nobody complains to the police about being seen with a prostitue here. There are plenty of people roaming the streets with prostitutes. Nobody will bother you.

she's separated but not divorced, right?? that would be a major issue here.

Ok I would say like funi...but on the other hand only married couples are allowed into qatar to stay and to be in public...you never know when the authorities will approach you.

Regards

I'm not sure how she could come to Doha in the first place if she is Thai. She would need to have a job - in which case of course she can come - or be sponsored and unless you are married you cannot sponsor her.

Get her a job.

Easiest way. This way there is no relation between you. After this, have fun. (indoors)
