Hi,
I have been recruited in MIDMAC construction company,Qatar and deputed to work at a labour camp.

Now the contract mentions that I will be given a free single room accomodation( with free electricity, water, maintenance & laundry).

The problem is this...I have been told that this single room accomodation is nothing but a portacabin in the camp.I have no experience of living in a portacabin...

So would love to hear from qatarliving members who have lived in a portacabin and would love to share their experience with me...

Many thanks
Abhi

I had lived in a portacabin for 2.5 yrs in Saudi Arabia and I don't want to stay anymore in portacabin unless you want to save from high rents of Flat & Villa here. Temperature inside portacabin is so so extreme. During summer, it's so hot and it's so cold during winter due to the thin material of the walls and poor insulation of the roof.

It would be more comfortable & presentable to stay in flat specially in villa where you have a wide space in & out of your accommodation.

Have fun here in Qatar! Try to stay in Portacabin and you will see what I say!!!

Cheers!

I used to live in a portacabin waybact my Saudi Arabian days. It's not bad at all as long as the portacabin is new or well maintained.

Yes, why not experience it first.

I've lived in a "portacabin".. It had all the mod cons that a normal house has.. Loved it..

it's a normal thing. Experience it first and then you decide whether you want to stay or quit!

portacabin, i think its the mobile rooms made of thin wooden walls, easy to build up and dismandle, have been in long back for medical camps but never lived in.
