Poor ole puttytat needs a home

I have a few strays that come through my garden that I feed and look after as well as two I have adopted indoors full time. One of our stray cats Swiper has been with us for five years now. I let him in sometimes but I cannot leave him in the house when I go out as he fights with our indoor cats.

Swiper is a big grey tabby, probably about 6/7 years old now and desperately needs a full time home as I have noticed last summer and this summer he cannot deal with the heat. We have had him neutered and regularly wormed as with all the cats inside and out. He looks after himself beautifully and is always well groomed and clean. His eyes are clean and his coat is healthy. He is completely house trained as I sometimes let him stay in at night. But my husband is adamant that two inside cats is enough.

He does not get on with other cats and I would not recommend him to a family with under fives. Having said that in the five years he has been coming to us he has never bitten or scratched any of us. He is as gentle as a lamb and very tolerant of being pounced on by my nine year old. Its other cats he has a territorial problem with.

He is a big softy and justs wants a lap to sit on and curl up to in his old age. He is very loving and speaks very gently. A proper gentleman.

Can anyone give him a more permanent home? A harbour from the heat?Someone looking for a friend with a good listening ear?

Call me if you want to know anymore about him. 55313895. Al Waab area near Villaggio.

Hi Winnie,I suggest you take a few pictures of the cat and post it on Cats in Qatar facebook page as well as QAWS, try even 2nd chance rescue. There are a lot of people who do this and many pets get a good home.Hope this works for you and good luck. I hope he will find a wonderful home!

Thanks guys/gals.

It is heartbreaking to see them eeking out an existence in this environment. I just want to adopt them all. I have taken some down to QAWS but I know they are overloaded as it is so I see this as doing my bit when the weather is too hot to walk the QAWS dogs.

I thought I would just put it out there in case someone would be interested. Yes 6/7 years in cat years isn't old . Our family cat was16 when he died before we came to Q. But in terms of adoption most people want a kitten. But the plus side of a mature cat is your furniture is safe. Hehe. We brought in a kitten who is now a year old and she has massacred our sofas the little scallywag.

Anyone want a year old ginger kitten?

Or a 4 year old tortoiseshell female. Both neutered and wormed.?

It seems to be very hard on all the outdoor cats this year...we have 4 that have adopted us,2 have been a abandoned by arab families who used to live on our compound, and 2 youngsters, probably born here. One desperately wants to be inside but our dogs won't tolerate him.he comes in for a cool down daily while the dogs are shut away safely. 6/7 years isn't old though...we've had quite a few who have lived in good health to 18 years of age! I'm sorry I can't help you either,I know what it's like to see them suffering in this heat,I find it quite upsetting to be honest! All I can do is feed them and put plenty of water out for them,at least that way,I know they are well fed and watered!

Trust me I do have same passion for cats and dogs but the only problem is that my husband is very strict about not keeping pets as he himself have a big red nose full of big pimples and he is very very allergic to dust or cold/hot waves...ALAAAAS I cant help even if I really want to....
