Legal or illgal Nursery?

I am wondering whether all these Nurseries in Doha need to be registered under a Government body? I have been toa nursey in Matar Qadeem and I like the outlook of the premises. But I am curious as to where I could inquire if these nurseries are registered or not. Also, what if your child was physically abused? i.e. a slap or pinch or something as horrible as that? how should you react? do you need to press charges or isn't there a law against child violence? Appreciate all the advice. Thanks,

further, has anyone heard about the Play school Nursery & Kids R us nursey? any recommendations? I have a 1.5 year old baby that I want to enroll in a play school so that she could mingle with other kids and develop her social skills. any suggestions aroung matar qadeem area?

Don't go by the outlook of the premises. Meet the teachers, check the classrooms, bathrooms, hygiene level, safety standards, teacher student ratio, brightness of the room, play areas, daily programs for the children etc.

You can enquire with the nurseries directly about their licenses. They are supposed to be licensed.

Regarding the abuse, how do you prevent children from doing the same to one another.

If you feel the teachers are abusing, then you can raise a huge noise at the school as well as press charges, if you have proof, but most of the time, the nurseries are run by professional people who have experience in child care, so you should not have such a problem.

Visit as many nurseries as you can before finalising on any one.
