NOC...the dream

Gents please share your thoughts, ideas and latest news for NOC law, and mainly for foreign companies, which they are investing in qatar without the need of qataries and or without hiring any local staff, just here since years ago but 100% staff brought from abroad.

their working conditions, environment is deadfull, in contract it shows they follow the qatar labor laws, however in reality, staff is doing per day more than 12h, in ramadan...easily 8 hours, no overtime and unfair bonus with a tough cost saving strategies.

Company X Slaching the headcount easily, re hiring again, even some consultant are not under their sponsorship and got fired by them they get back to their recruiter in doha for supporting them to find another job, hopefully they found for them but that X is insisting to get him out of the country, may be for information security reason.

the guy got fired, come back to his country and after 2 months got a call from X to re hire him agaim!!!

the big pain is on how to protect such kind of acitivities

- any update regarding the magic NOC docuement,
- work environement unpraticable, just because they are paying you an extra as you are getting from your country
- Foreign companies, ramp up resources, give you job and after, easily to fire you, no chance to cover yourself, after, just because of this NOC, X got money for N projects, had a benefits for T time time, then after T or even before they start to think for screwing staff and hiring others to keep their ''KPI'' energized...
Any protection for such behaviors, now i am seeing it, a standard practice.
Staff mood is always bad, not motivated at all, making delay, non focusing on quality, so who is the beneficial and looser here? think about it...

Thanks for your time and interest on interacting on this topic.

Thank you gents for your comments,

i would like to point out mainly for the private sector, where the mobility and job routing for the experts are eligible, however in private sectors we will have local ones i mean which are owned by local people also the Enterprises ( SME/Multinatioanl,etc..) acting as Qatar/Gulf branches.

those companies when they intend to invest here, they show up as a modern and multinational working environement, bringing knowledges to the country, as a result to take up some projects with certain benefits.

Here the link between the NOC, and the status of the hired staff inclu.engineers ( i mean the certified/diploma engineers, as many faked resources are moving around in GCC, they are admiring the whole system incl NOC and, extra work hours and so on...this is another topic should be treated in a certain time )

the hired qualified resources are here for a certain period, screwed for more every day, hour and seconds, no way to escape, 90% of their contract are a yearly basis, so any unsouhaitable behavior, he will be deported!!!

the situation here, that staff could not express his attitude and look for another job more ''human'', if we offered that degree of freedom to the employee, sure the employer will change his attitude.please correct me if i am wrong.

Not necesserarly that emplyee is lookign for another job, but he still have a chance to ''escape'', the fact is not only money is all in our life...not for few dollars that staff are acting as machines, ''eating'' them selfs, considering your boss as the master of every thing while the truth is the opposite in some circumstances,

the idea behind, not giving a way to all of us to be a revolutioneer, but at least we still need that thin wire of our humanity still present every day, as capitalism never care about people, just i am see you as a source of income, no more...that is we have to take it as aim to beat the big pocket owners for holding money of others...

By the way that engineer, mentioned above in my first text, do as extra working hours per month,25% more, at the end of years he should get paid of minimum 2 salaries as bonus with encouragement however he got 70% of one salary with "you should thank us for being so kind with you"....

Any comment, thank a lot for your motivation.

Good point Arien.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the rules will get progressively more, not less, restrictive in the build up to Qatar 2022 to ensure that the local sponsors don't have to deal with the inconvenience of staff getting better jobs.

if there is a breach in your contract you can file a case against your employer however there are the following complications

1. You cannot work which can be more than 6 months ( well u can but that's gonna be illegal )

2. The company does not show their face most of the times in court which keeps the case on delay on the contrary if you don't show your face your case gets closed.

if the court favors you and you have enough proof .. you get an NOC from the court by default. Its a long depressing process but I am going through the hard way out just the get this Sons of biyatches on track.

Why not just move to one of the other GCC countries that doesn't have an NOC?

For more than 5 years people have been spreading false rumours and false hope that the NOC system will be replaced.
