Finally...Just got updated OTA for Jelly bean for my S3.
Seen all OK, without loosing any data. I think this time OTA Jellybean for arround Qatar and GCC.
I think you should wait, my device got auto updated with Jelly Bean 4.1.1 -Settings --> About ----> Software Update-->Update (also tick auto update). I think devices bought from Qatar are getting updated by date of purchase. I got my device updated last week but my friend still didn't get the update. You shouldn't risk updating the custom developers versions as it may cause battery drain, other system issues. I wont take risk for device like S3. You must get hold of original update.
In S3 - You can do multitasking only if you are watching a video using built in samsung video player. In Jelly Bean, you can even watch youtube using video player.
You can make the video minimized to any part of the screen and then do multitasking like browsing, texting, etc..
Updated through Kies... Its quite a nice update, as I've got Google Now with it. The OS feel is smooth, and works well. However, be prepared for a quicker battery drain, as the Jellybean uses it to the hilt.. expect a drop in the battery life by a few minutes.
I can't get the multitasking feature(which I have now come to believe that its only for the Note)
There's the Block mode which is added, which seems to be well thought of.
I'm still tinkering with it.. Hope to give more substantial feedback.
I've been using this Jelly Bean (Omega JB version 30) from the link below without any problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663656

Using Jellybean OTA since 25th..The customized firmwares are much faster and better than the one samsung provides.
I am using this one. Rock Stable without any issues so far.
