Help - Wanna Watch National Day Programmes!
Hi Folks,
I am recently settled in Qatar. i really wanna know about National Day celebrations which is gonna get held in Corniche on 18th December 2012.
Heard that there are many programs to be held at Corniche on the particular day.
tahsinmim: posted a program chart about the national day celebrations. And realized that programs are gonna start from 6 AM onwards. My wife and me really wanna see the programs and snap those beautiful moments.
Can you guys advice us how, where and when should we go if we wanna see all the programs through out the day? We shld catch a taxi or if we take our vehicle will there be any kinda poroblems like parking or something like that? Will it be okay if I take my wife along with me to see the programs?
Kindly advice me (since I am new and i dnt have much friends here in Doha) in this. I really wanna see all the programs on Qatar National Day. This is my first GCC country and I have heard a lot about the culture tradition en all.

From last few years it's happening in the Ireland near corniche, but some times it happens at Katara side also.

It's really a hard target to reach there, its will be tightly packed and fully jammed,
No cab driver will agree to take you there.
Yes, u can reach some where closer to it, then You must have to walk miles and miles, because parking area will be far away from the main parade area (corniche).
I don't want to scare you, but I always prefer to watch this program on air properly... -:)

Arrive at any of designated Parking Area and ride the bus to the parade area. Try to be there not later then 6am. The parade will start around 8 and public should be seated max. by 7.
Be on corniche in the evening to see the car parade (meesarah) and fire works which will be quite amazing.
Wear warm cloths as it is chilly in the morning and eveing.

Thanks a lot for your valuable comments. I am staying in Matar Khadeem. And it will not be a walkable distance for us! Will arrange a cab and will try to push in before 5 AM.

Dude.. Hai Best is u park ur car at Musherib area and take a seat in Bida Park. Best to be there by 6AM . Programme will be upto 11am. Evening the fire works will start anytime after 8pm.
Since u dont have kids better to walk from mUsherib area.

at 6am corniche will be jam pack already. The perpared seats will be full as early as 5am. So its up to you where you want to stay. For the traffic, yes it is tremendous! 2-3hrs for the normal 15mins drive. So where do you stay here? if you are about 2-3kms away to the corniche its better to walk than drive. Never take a taxi! it is the same for the evening fireworks(8pm). Everyone are welcome to the celebration. See you there!
