Sports physicians are uniquely qualified to understand the demands of sport on the athlete and the special requirements athletes have to be successful in their sport. Our sports physicians work closely with other departments at Aspetar and provide advice on how to prevent and manage injuries and medical conditions associated with sport and exercise to help athletes  return to exercise and optimise their level of performance.

Aspetar’s sports physicians are qualified to treat athletes from all types of sport. However, some physicians have experience and a special interest in specific sports, such as football, athletics, rugby and other football codes, disabled sports, tennis, handball, basketball, swimming, hockey, ballet / dance, gymnastics, boxing, cycling, netball, squash, badminton, volleyball, triathlon, Tae Kwon Do, as well as adventure sports (snow sports, sailing, kayaking, mountaineering, scuba diving and kite surfing).
