Mother's visa who is more than 70 years old

I have recently moved to Qatar from UAE. I had my mother's residence visa in UAE and she was staying there with me and my family. I have learnt that in Qatar if your parents are older than 60 years it is difficult to get the residence visa for them. Can any one suggest if I can do something about it? e.g. approaching some higher authorities or any other procedure that could help to get the visa issued for my mother? I am a Pakistani national and like to stay in Qatar, it is good for family life but if my mother's visa is not issued it will be difficult for me to stay here longer.

7. Issued visa is for one month only. Once your parents reach doha, you have to get their medical done from medical commission in Abu Hamour. After that, you can get the visa extended upto six months.

Good Luck.

5. Once he settles down, he will call you. Take all documents to him. If you are lucky and he feels like it, he will write at the back of the form to issue visa. Take this form and all other documents to the visa office at the end of the building on ground floor. Get your number and give all documents to teh lady at your turn. She will give you a receipt and within 2 days visa will be issued. You can get a printout of the visa from qatar govt website.

6. If captain tells you that visa cannot be issued, dont get disheartened. try again. Go next week and again give him papers. Last year, I got visa on my third attempt. this year on first attempt.

This post is in two sections. Please read both.

I am not sure whether Qatar government gives residence visa for parents. However, I applied for a visit visa for my parents this year. Since both my parents are 60+, there was a problem. Procedure goes like this:

1. Get letter from your company for bringing your parents for a visit. This letter specifies your salary.

2. Take this letter along with filled application form to Madine Khalifa immigration office. (You can get forms types there as well).

3. If you have typed letter, letter from your company, copies of your visa, wife visa, wife passport, then reach immigration office at 0600 hrs (morning).

4. Immigration Captain sits on first floor and he reaches office a little after 6. Try to be the first one outside his office.

My Friend

Yeh it is not easy to bring ur mother here if her age is more than 60. One of my friend had the same problem as his parents age was above 60. He tried lot but failed to get the visa. But at the same time, i have seen some people succeed in bringing their parents even there age was above 60. U have to do lot of excersise but nothing is impossible.

Good luck
