I have a local drivers licensed from my country of origin however, I wonder how to get a Qatari licensed for me to start driving my own wheels and drive through the city. What are the requirements needed? Thank you.

I'm not sure, but first you need to get a letter from your sponsor.

then take the letter to any driving school. They will guide you.

Kabayan, you need to enroll to any driving school here in Qatar. If you license is still valid, you can enroll for 12 days session and then take the driving test.

Requirements:

- Eye test (need pictures)

- NOC for driving license from you employer

- copy of you RP, and license from phil.(original license need to present the original license to Khalifa office)

- 1,200QR(Approx)- driving schooll fee

- 100QR - Driving Test

- 250QR - license (if you passed the test)

(female has driving test option) Use the search box for other imformation. Good luck to you..

Initially you apply for a temporary license (150 QR) at the traffic department in Madinat Khalifa. Once your RP is processed this can be converted to a full Qatari driving license, whilst in process you will have to renew the temporary one each time your visa is renewed.

All of the above assumes that you hold a license that is accepted by the traffic department i.e. British, Irish, European ok - Phillipines not.

If you licence is not acepted then you have to take the driving test which i beleive is QR200 approx. I am not aware of the vagries of this process as i had a licence that was acceptable.
