Hi there,

I am about to land this May in Doha and would definitely need a car for ± 3 yrs at least. I was wondering, how much leasing a car in Doha costs. Would €400 a month suffice, which is roughly QAR 1970 according to XE.com ?

Would appreciate if u guys could help.

thanks in advance

Thank you all for the generous advice. I think, I will first rent for sometime and then buy later on, as my assignment will definitely be more than 3 yrs. If the prices of the cars in the classified section are to be believed, cars in Doha are not that expensive compared to Europe. Thanks alot guys.

There is an option you can rent a car from any agency as long term contract like 3 years with full insurances with all service free just pay monthly, and you can change the car if like just inform the agency.

You can just rent small cars with that budget such as lancer, tiida, ignus, etc if that would be your transportation allowance paid by company go ahead with it, but if you will pay for it then you might find an option what the other Qlers are suggesting though to buy a car has procedures to fallow such as salary bank transfer, must wait three to six months after the opening of your check account and the ending of your probation period in the company that you would be working for.

have a good idea, if you planning to stay in doha for 3 years then you can as well get a new car through a bank and pay that qr 1970 and within 3 years you will have finished the payment and the car is yours...maybe you can as well sell it when you leave ..think you would have killed 2 birds with one stone welcome to doha

there are options in renting and try to negotiate a limited KM

eg. a car 1850 per month but if you limit for 1500 km per month same car only 1650 )small 1.4 ltr car)

so be smart

anyway 3 years, go buy a car. or what many do get a rent car for first 3 months till comfortable and after buy one 2nd hand 40-50k 3 y old

you save money
