I searched all industrial area they are all so expensive .... 6500 QR 8500 QR for what ?.

I got one from EBAY 600 USD only while shipment and fixing will cost alot and may be it will not match the gulf verision .

In Street 23, you can find a garage exclusively dealing with the problems of Maxima. You can also get a good engine from a big Scrape yard located in street number 14, and they would also fix it for you in the same cost, with some warranty as well.

Another option is to sell out Maxima as and where basis, and look for another car like Camry or Accord.

Ahmad: Salam Alaikum. From what I can gather, possibly your mechanic is not a professional. The overheating of a car engine could be due to other reasons other than what the mechanic has checked so far. The engine could be overheating if the water pump has stopped working. Yes, a leaking head gasket could also be a reason, but then that is not a very costly job. By opening up the engine he has led you bear additional expenses which could have been avoided. Also, what guarantee is there that the second-hand you intend buying and that too from Dubai is going to be in good condition? I feel you are heading for long line of expenses.

Please don't panic and DON't buy engine or parts from anywhere...including Doha. There is a very strong reason for telling you this. I just lost my first car in a similar fashion and it started with the same problem.

@acchbaccha see what happened is heat meter telling high temp .grage said that raidater then it was not then they said head Gasket then they open the engine and the war began spare parts only is 3000 QR then labour charges QR 1500 then we discover the head is not going to be fixed i need a new head 4000 or to buy it from scrap 1500 all on in all is 6000 till now so better to buy one used engine full = 3500 not open with warranty 15 days as may be after changing all of that may be the car will go back to the same heat problem !!!!!!!

I do not know how things work in Dubai but my experience of buying spare parts in other ME countries tells me that it is always a blind buy. The sellers would rarely tell you anything about the part you are buying as they themselves don't know. One can only make a guess from the model of the car if the part is worth the money. Why don't you get your present car engine overhauled at a good workshop with genuine parts which you will be buying yourself. In this way you are sure of the condition of the engine. An overhauled engine is as good as new one.
