Correction to Mr. Mario’s (mp1270) answer, No. 1 never consider any car especially 4wd registered under a female name is used by a female driver (horrible driver anyways) only and not being abused by reckless driving in the desert. Many 4wd cars are registered under wives or sister’s name to take the luxury of 60% tinted glasses including the front (driver’s and front row passenger) and rear glass.
No 2 Desert driving dose not causes any damage to the under chassis it is mainly the body parts or engine due to unstable driving conditions.
No 3 tire expiry date is considered for storage only, if the tire is stored for 2years or more without mounting than it is expired.
When you buy a secondhand car only computer test is not enough, get an experts advice on the body repair also such as repainting or duplicate parts such as Head light, tail lights, bumper or interior.
First preference goes to Model of the car and next is how much milege is driven by the owner. Then obiviously check the condtion of the vehicle. If you are a gud driver and once u do test drive then u will came to know what are the problems with the car else ask a help from a mechanics and next is check car insurance and road permits exists or not.
first and foremost is the owner if they are having fun in the dune, so dont buy it coz they spoiled the underchassy and gear system. second is, you must confirm it to the service center if the car is always service by the dealer. next is the mileage and if possible you must buy from a lady driver coz im pretty much sure they are carefull and tidy when handling cars. well of course the update of todays technology if you are looking for a full option in modern car. and look at the tire if its still not expire because if its expire so be carefull or else you will be having tire puncture on the road.
