there is an Area where you could find several shops like in Karama Dubai....

It is in Old Souq Area (Souq al Jadeed, Dera Souq in Doha)....road from Corniche, go behind QNB and StanChart, you will find such shops.

I too lived in dubai and was often a visitor to that area which u have mentioned..But i m sorry u will get ne of that sort of here...I still miss those areas of dubai from where v can get all aunky funky sort of things..
