I thought it may be a good idea to start a chat on whats around for Christmas in Qatar.

Where are the Mr. Kipling Mince Pies?
Any real Christmas Trees?
Any homemade Christmas cakes....

I'll kick off -

Lulu Gharrafa is taking orders for fresh turkeys. They have whole turkeys, crowns and butterfly(boneless) coming. Pick up date is between 22nd and 24th December. But orders must be in by 10th December.
Fresh Turkeys QR45 per KG
Turkey Crowns QR49 per KG
Turkey Butterfly QR55 per KG

They are also advertising REAL trees arriving very soon.

Please add any other suggestions or sightings of those all important Parsnips and Sprouts !!

I know it is not good but it is the only type of paella pan available. But to lessen the bad effect of it, you must used wooden or platic laddle when stirring the foods on it. Otherwise, try to find an alternative pan which is a non-stick. You can use the deep pan instead....or use some non-stick round baking pan.

It maybe Al Nasir but Im not sure of...but it is Muslim name shop....with the large hanging crystal chandeliers you could see from the exterior partition glasses, the huge arabic sofas, lamp shades, rattan craddle...you may find various made of stainless steel & cast iron cooking utensils.

dawnhawk, you made me miss Philippines. How about halayang ube? Saw some yams from carrefour but not the good ones...they should be purely violet in color but the available are mixed with brownish and a little bit of violet.
