Hi all,
I'm newbie here (new in Doha as well).

1. I'm a Koi (and other pond fish)/ small pond lover. Planning to get a small pond (mostlikely outdoor) with fish (if no Koi available here... any fish will do!),..... Can we find them here? Anyone know any good place for all these stuff.

2. Where is a good place to purchase gardening stuff ie plants / flowers + others related to gardening.

Appreciate for any advise...

Regards

recently I just bought an aquarium...

I compare the price Al buhaira (fish shop in al mirqap)is more expensive than Tropical aquarium in Markhiya...

The real water plant in mirqab is QR 50 (crazy ?? ) meanwhile in Markhiya only QR 15 ...

Maybe you want to survey this place also ...

(I'm not working there :) )

Hi Tahfouna,

I have seen one fish shop in Mirqab road but would like to go for more survey first. We'll see if I'm able to locate where is this The Forest shop at Al Shafi road.

I'm now also looking for a good shop to purchase a thick plastic sheet, in which I plan to DIY my pond with it, rather than a fiber glass tank. This would be my first ever attempt to DIY a pond... hope it will really end up as a pond! :)

thanks

Thanks Aisha-Taweela.

I think I should b ok for the gardening stuff, open review of other QL forum with this regards. Looks like there're few place we can get it here. I certainly need to check out the one you mention near w/sale & vegie market, bcoz' it's quite near to where I currently stay.

Looks like I have to DIY my pond huh.... Just not sure if I will ended up as fish pond or swimming pool for my kids! it's an interesting idea though. Ehmmmm... now I need to find a good shop for fiber glass tub & water pump.

Welcome to Doha,

If you are looking for gardening plants etc I recommend you go in the street off the fish & vegetable market. There is a whole street filled with garden centres (on the right side of the street). Also the Omani Souq has plants. There is also a small fish shop there on the left hand side of f the street goinng towards Salwa rd. This shop might be cheaper than some of the other fish shops down town. I do not think you can get a lot of ready made stuff for your pond, you will have to do DIY and be innovative. But am sure you will find everything you need overthere. Good luck
