Halal or Haraam

One of the chicken shop owners in my locality simply cuts the throats of the chickens in one go most of the times because of the sharpness of the knife and separates the head from the body (but not in one blow). As far as my understanding goes; to be halal for human consumption the spinal cord cannot be cut until it is dead and drained of all blood according to Islamic laws. On raising objection he is quick to show the gate. I would like to know whether consumption of such chickens halal? If not, whom should I approach to lodge a complaint against the shopkeeper?

This is only what you have seen. What about the frozen chicken, we don't know even if they are properly slaughtered or not. I have seen some people even selling dead chicken back in my home country. My suggestion is not to buy chicken meat or already slaughtered chicken back in your country. Try to do it in your front, so you will be sure that they are not selling you simply dead chicken.

go and report this matter...the head cannot be chopped off in one go. Let us know which shop that is sowe can avoid it. As for those who act like idiots in this thread, just ignore them...dogs like to bark and let saliva hang from their mouths.
