well my laptop might not be the greatest model, but it cost 2250QR in Giant. It's fine for day to day use. Fujitsu. But, I had to install an operating system as it came blank.
buying a laptop from UK and moving it to doha might affect your warranty status based on the model and the warranty type of you're laptop.
i work in an IBM 1st Tier BP and can offer you a thinkpad laptop upon you're arrival keeping in mind that it will range around the 7000QR plus or minus based on the spec.
To my best of knowledge, you can get it here cheeper and they do have good after sale service, specialy if you buy it from Jarrer book shop ( though a bit higher in prices)
or you can get it from Carrefour ( lowest prices ) and the service is related back to the provider not them
computer stuffs is not cheaper in Doha ... but as other poster said, it is alot easier for you to get the support if you buy it in Qatar. You will not want to send your goods half way across the globe if the problem arise.
There won't be any price advantage when compared to UK. But, the warranty issues & service facilities are really an advantage if you plan to stay in Doha more than one year.

the best laptop is around QR5 000. u do the math. i think it might be cheaper if you buy there.
