where are the indian restaurants that cater for indians??

Hi, I am a brit, but when I was in saudi I found a brilliant and really cheap indian restaurant that catered for the indian expats. No cutlery (just eat with your hands), and they did lots of dosas, thali etc, with guys walking around handing out extra chapatis etc. Even though I was the only non-indian in the place, it was much much better than a restaurant designed for the international trade.

.............so where is a similar place in Doha? With all the Indians here somewhere like I described must exist, but all I seem to be able to find are posh places designed for the international trade.

Many thanks!

Hi. While there are a number of authentic indian restaurants in Doha, BONANZA in Bin Mehmood, which is about a Km from the Jaidah Flyover suits the description of what you have experienced in Saudi Arabia.

I must say that the best briyani is served by Osra restaurant close to the Mannai Roundabout and beside Babyshop....Ask for Dum Briyani.....

The best dosa's are available in Garden Restaurant.....

This is not a promotion for these places but my frank opinion...coming straight from the stomach and better still tastebuds.......

Dude u have to try Shalimar Palace next to Kebab king, near Dasman centre.

Or, more expensive, but awesome, Bombay Balti in Ramada.

Last but not least, Bukhara, Tasty and yet Cheap!

Hope it helps.
