Asalaam Wa Alaykum
Can anyone please help me. My husband visiting Qatar Doha aand wanted to know where he can he buy exclusive Abayahs. He is only there till Friday. Please get back to me asap. Jazakallah Fatima
Hello han19, 'fraid so, I doubt you'll find a decent abaya for QR 400 in a mall. I have mine tailor made so am not au fait with price ranges but I think that QR 1000 would be right for a nice one from a mall. Last time I was in Dary that's what I recall.
Nonnie wants an exclusive one which you can only do by having it tailor made as it will be unique. But as she doesn't live here I guess it will be unique enough in her city!
If your husband is just visiting then ready made will have to do. No time to get one made. I don't think he will know about selecting fabric for the abaya and the shayla and then how to design it. Hope he knows your measurements!
More expensive ready made ones are available at malls. City Centre amd Landmark malls have a shop called Motahejeba. Hyatt Plaza mall has a shop called Dary. I think starting price for a reasonable one might be around QR 1000 for both the abaya and shayla.
Good luck to him! My husband wouldn't know where to start at buying an abaya. He is, however, an expert on thobes and ghuttras!

i agree with diamond girl.
stick to the safe abbaya shops in landmark, hyatt, citycentre.
its motahajjiba, my fair lady.
in fact if your hubby scours the inner lanes of city centre he will find many more shops for abbayas.
most women prefer to stitch it for a better fit and look.
diamond girl has it gotten so expensive at 1000Qrs.
wow thats lots.
i am still under the impression thats its in the range of 400+.
if he wants, he can also check out the souqs, ie souq deira, and souq asiri. they too have lots of shops to select from and will be slightly cheaper.
happy heart
