We are relocating to Doha in June this year. Wanted some reviews about GEMS Wellington School, preferably from parents of students studying in this school. As I understand its a newer school and there's not much about it anywhere. A little help would be great.
I don’t advise anyone to send his child to this school for the below reasons
they are not professional at all.
Teachers never respond to any emails.
They will never answer any calls.
You can see the racism in their eyes against none blue/green eyes
Their timing is another story your child will reach home by 4:00 PM? Which is very late
Transport coordinator is very rude and he thinks he is CEO. He dosen’t show any respect to any parents
Teachers using half duplex way in emails they will send you what the need but they never care or respond for and mail inquiry you sent.
if you have any small inquiry, you need to leave your job and take your car travel to the desert area called (wokair ) to ask for silly question all of this effort because of the receptionist doesn't pick the phone
All I can say about this school they have good building ONLY
We have opted for this school for our daughter for FS1. Everything appears to be fine uptil now.Cannot comment on the teaching methodology yet.Though Gems is a reputed name among schools outside Qatar.

They will attend yes for this you have to keep calling for 3 to 4 days :). You can get the school impression and think if you have a emergency about kids and their irresponsible behaviour is not acceptable.
I tried them around 30 times in last 5 days and they attend only one time :).

GEMS Wellington is brand new school, opening this September. So there is no students yet. I've met principal and registered my daughter for FS1. I believe this school has potential to be one of the best school in Qatar. But the reason why we choose this school is there are not so much option, if you google about school in Qatar, you'll know that it's veeeeeeeeery difficult to get school seat.
American stream one is GEMS American Academy established last September. These schools are located next to each other. Wellington is British curriculum.
One and only negative thing about school is the location, it's in Al Wakrah, bit far from Doha.
Since you are relocating, just choose accommodation in Al Wakrah or area close to Al Wakrah.
New school , good building , ample parking , nice customer services, GOOD fee structure, I hope will be offereing good extra curricullar activities as well. It is too early to say anything about quality of studies / teaching methodology. This school is offering amercian stream.

definitely a newly constructed school. I just don't know if it is complete already with a staff.
