Interesting development, and so how would one get teaching? I've taught at Berlitz in Toronto, Canada. Would love to spend my free time tutoring privately, any references?
enough with the exaggeration.. I think the rate is between 100 -125 .. not 250 and more for travel costs. That's too much and no one would wanna pay that amount of money for an 'hour' with a native English speaker that probably doesn't even have a degree in the subject he/she is tutoring.
I think ppl should use common sense and not take advantage of the inflation here in Doha.
I am a former English teacher from the U.S. and I just started tutoring a student from the American School of Doha. I was told by a counselor there that the going rate is about QR 250 per hour, more if you have to travel to the student's home.
It has to be around Qatari Riyals 200/- per hour. 150/ 200/- is the standard rate. But a teacher who is getting more students or is overburdened can ask for more money.

I pay 200QR an hour for my child's well known Spanish tutor. There is high demand for tutors in Doha and so the going rate is rather high.
