Doha International Book Fair 31

The Doha International Book Fair is one of the most prominent and largest international book fairs held in the region. The book fair enjoys a good reputation that people from Gulf, Arab and foreign countries rush to visit and take part in it.

The first launch of the exhibition was in 1972 under the supervision of the Qatari National Library. It used to be held every two years. However, since 2002 it has been held every year due to higher demand.

The exhibition gained an international reputation after its success in attracting the largest and most important publishing houses, which number around 20 in the first exhibition.
