Straight from the mouth of "Attorney Manny Pacquiao"
After his blistering election defeat in May, Boxer Manny Pacquiao seems to be off on another great adventure! Attorney Romulo Macalintal, who is working for the Team Unity Senatorial Slate was in General Santos last week, attending a meeting of the Comelec Task Force Maguindanao, when Manny told him that he wants to become a lawyer! Yes, that’s right, a lawyer! Pacquiao, who did not yet finish elementary school is setting his sights on the bar. Macalintal says that Manny intends to immediately enroll at Notre Dame Dadiangas University, and then after his fight in Vancouver in October, he will then enroll at UP.
Can Manny really be serious about this? No doubt that if Pacquiao were to really apply himself to his boxing he can literally go down as one of the greatest boxers of all time within his weight class. Personally, I just don’t see Manny as a great Attorney. Why does he seem to keep wanting to abandon his boxing career? He is still young enough that he can fight for quite a while before needing to retire. After retirement, there are plenty of activities that he could pursue, no doubt. He has the money to be able to accomplish almost anything. But, and attorney?
