Hi, I've been offered a job on a temporary basis as a Sales Supervisor. I've been told that they'll be paying me £9.00 an hour, which is 8410.15 Qatari Rial. My accommodation, travel and i've got free health.... Am I getting paid the going rate, or should I negotiate?
The store owner, is looking for someone to train his current employee and show the 'western' way of a sale. Having said that, I wouldn't leave my life in england, to do retail in Qatar. So the store owner, agreed that I have an open ticket and must remain only a month. Thereafter I can go back whenever I choose to.
If you are single and if you are not buying all those branded stuff etc, you can have a good (above average) life style without saving anything from it. Better to ask what kind of accommodation will they be providing you before coming and also no harm in negotiating it.
Hi mate, you'll be fine on that. You probably won't save a huge amount but you'll definitely be comfortable here, be able to go out a bit and try some activities, and be moderately social. Providing you don't buy tons of clothes/tech (which are pricey here) and rely on expensive hotel meals, along with learning how to shop effectively - you will be fine. You'll be more comfortable than a 20k salary in the UK by a long way.
Hi, I'm single and would be out in Qatar for a couple of months. I would like to spend my days off expoloring and I would like to be comfortable. Is that still possible?
if your single and do not spend too much on leisurely things, that salary would be enough. however, if you want to bring your family I would seriously negotiate that salary.

What do mean by temporary, there is no such thing as temporary here !
