After 5 years of employment, any change ?
My friend joined in a company in Qatar in 2006. In the contract terms, it was mentioned that he will get annual vacation of 21 days per year.
Now he has completed 6 years. As per the Qatari Employmnet laws, is there any provision saying , an employee who completed 5 years of employment, can get 28 days of annual vacation ?
Is such law applicable to private sector too ?
To get the annual vacation of 28 days, what he has to do ?
Is it the discretion of current Management ?
or the Govt rules ?

Qatar labour rules say that after completion of 5 years leave pay is payable at the rate of 28 days per year. Please check the Labour laws...Its much clear

Normally he could resign and get another job. In Qatar, however, this ain't possible due to the 'Modern Slavery" laws!
stipulates only the minimum of 21 days. Anything more than that is totally the management's discretion. The only thing he can do is ask and if they tell him to eff off then there's nothing he can do.
