guys, instead of air intake i rather bought the OEM KN model. there is somehow difference on the performance and the sound is not that noisy but it's good.
A noisy open type air filter located in the engine bay is not advised because the engine will suck in hot air from around the engine.
I have done a lot to my car but inspection dont notice anything because the air filter is located in the stock location under the wheel arch but is a differnt type filter and pipework. But I doubt there is much power to be gained because you need the maximum of cold air and most performance filter designs will suck up hot air from around the engine bay.
Also the dust here is very fine so cheap air filters will not filter out this dust and its probably better to use the stock paper type filter or high quality performance filter like K&N.
It is not illegal, but your vehicle will not pass the technical inspection required for road permit renewal. (They will ask you to remove it and come back.)
What you can do is, remove the aftermarket intake before taking the vehicle for inspection and fix it back on after you pass the inspection.

I had k&n filter installed in my car before (cone type) and had two inspections and they did not even bother. They totally don't care.
Just be careful in choosing your brand. Don't get those cheap ones. It will give you more harm than good.
