The funny thing is they dont ask that to the european couples though its clear as daylight they are not relatives or husband and wife but when they come across asians and such others in close proximity they get funny ideas which actually is none of their business

There is freedom here in Qatar as long as you won't abuse it, I don't think of any problem

I dont know guys...but i think two years ago there were instances that i have heard from my friends where police ask them if they r relatives or married while they are inside the car.. But nowadays i noticed that police are now more lenient in such cases..

I'm a girl. I call a taxi. The driver is a man. What else can I do, but get in the car and go where I need to get to? No problem.

Just Drive, but don't Ride each other :) Get a flat :)

To be honest im now two years here but i still thought that it still prohibited to be together in a car boy & girl who are not relatives or married couple.. I heard about a law of 'illicit mingling' in islamic country which i think being together in a car is included..But if majority of commenters here are saying otherwise (which i hope is reliable info) then that is good to know...

Maybe you did'nt hear about CID stopping cars knocking in the flats checking the documents if the boy and a girl are really couples maybe when you experience that then all of you will tell that I am right.

SORRY to all if you are not aggreeing in my opinion I'm just telling what I learned in an Islamic country especially KSA that no one is allowed to be in a car if your not a couples or family members and if your telling a different scenario about helping others that is not included in this topic the lady is asking boy and a girl riding in one car so I assume it's only for two people in one car helping and other things is different again SORRY if my opinion is wrong.

Well POLICE STOPED me manytimes while checking DL and ID MID NYTs but they never asked whos with me .. so there is no Problem!

You would would think the cops have better things to do than to stop cars for males and females. In a country where people don't even turn up to court for an incident in which 19 people died, I would think a little touching would be the least of their worries
