BROADBAND CONNECTION PROBLEM
Hi guys, need some help from the tech guys of QL.
I am facing a problem with my ADSL connection. My modem/router is Thomson tg585v7. The Broadband indicator is only blinking and not getting into a stable position so unable to connect to internet. I thought it is a problem with the cable so tried with two other new cables but still it is not getting connected. Now I am thinking that it could be the problem of the modem itself. I would highly appreciate your advise before going for a new modem/router. I had similar issues earlier and the guy from Qtel replaced the modem/router with another one. Actually it was not a new one and he told me that the new one will cost more than Qr. 250 and I am with a strong feeling that the issue is from the modem/router.
did you try banging the router on the floor?...lol
The guy who came last time has already upgraded the firmware. The issue has been noticed long back but it was resuming after some time. I used to get some disconnections every day for some time and then it will automatically resume. Now the situation is totally unbearable as it never gets on. I tried for 2-3 hours last night and kept it off and tried again this morning but of no use.
If they already change the router and you did some of the tricks, Most likely its router problem. its either defective or it requires an update.
bb, LOL.
You are dealing with 5Star telecom company...
You should learn to hold your patience...lol
Remy - my payment is up to date.
KR, Radius and MM - Yes I doubted very much and I had similar problem earlier and they replaced the router with a used one I think.
z1310.0921 - Ooredoo is alreay been informed but I would like to get some info to deal with them when they come to check
I agree with KR, its a router model problem, specially when become hot.
try to call Ooredoo and ask them to reset your configuration/connection (whatever it is).
blinking light is a signal .. someone inviting / calling you ..
In your router's case .. it's sign of weakness ...
This is a common problem. QTEL has purchased some cheap routers from China of this brand and many of us have faced similar problems. It happened with me too but I kept calling them and insisted to replace the router with a good one. Finally the mechanic admitted that QTEL was having many defective routers of this model and didn't know where to use them. So, they try to push them to new customers hoping they would work.
As the other thread said...Let's all have fun dealing with Oreedoo!!
have you paid this month bill yet?
lion4, I have done all those tricks but nothing happens (only three lights are on). Broadband indicator is only blinking so the internet is out of question.
call Oreeedo,
by the way see the sitting of router, reset it
do one thing, switch off it, remove all wires from it, and even the one in Qtel wall port, wait for 1 minute, put the main Q-tel wire and wiat until all lights on Router give signal
and if no, call Oreedo, they have to replace it
