I am not qatari citizen, but i want to attend the Career Fair in Doha Exhibition Centre to be held on March 14 to 18, 2010. The Fair is for their qatarization project, but will they allow others to participate and submit CV even if not qatari?
the whole point about QCF is for Qatari Nationals to network and for large organisations to attract Qatari Talent. Even if there were a website related to QCF, it's primary aim is to interest Qatari nationals, so any job posted on there would be aimed at them not non-nationals.
I recommend going to job agencies, looking at each companies website individually and most of all apply for jobs appropriate to yourself directly on-line.
It is hard work but there is no quick fix to a job here in Qatar for non-nationals.
Sounds interesting!! Is there a website developed for this event wherein we can have a glimpse of the particiapting companies as well as job vacancies?
Generally the QCF is aimed at attracting talent from the Qatari population.
I used to work for a large Qatari company and whilst they politely accepted CV's from non-qatari applicants, their CV's would just go into the normal pool of CV's.
Also please note, it is actually very difficult to manage paper copies of CV's because database searches cannot be done on scanned documents in terms of key word searches. Tip, you are better sending in your CV electronically where your CV stands a better chance in coming up in key database searches - otherwise staff in a recruitment department have to remember that at some time they saw your cv and also remember exactly what was on it - considering your CV will be one amongst thousands submitted each month to large companies, you are more likely to find a needle in a haystack!
Remember, they best way to apply is through a companies website, better still apply directly for a position, not randomly sending in your CV to any company who will accept it. People are polite and will take your CV but you may be doomed to disappointment as it could raise your hopes.
Thank u so much....I forgot to mention that I'm under FAMILY VISA, seeking employment but ofcourse will secure work permit or Labor Card immediately if employed...I also have my QID already, Will I be allowed to submit my CV there?

Happy job hunting.
Diana you are palestinian...you speak Arabic and if you studied here in Qatar you have a far better chance :)
For Sure, you can go and apply. You just need to enter your QID and upload your resume, thats it.
I knew it because I have developed a part of this CAREER FAIR APPLICATION. So, best of luck. :)
I asked this question 2 days ago http://www.qatarliving.com/node/950499
and what I got is that u will have nothing to lose if u try to submit your resume there although it only targets Qatari nationals...Good Luck.
Its for the QATARISATION of the country.... which means Qataris in the work force.
A Filipino without work papers - doesn't really fit that criteria.
I worked at this a few years ago.
Here is the deal:
a. they may or may not let you in
b. the exhibitors won't be that interested in you
Nothing ventured - nothing gained - so give it a go but it is NOT aimed at recruiting non-Qataris

YES, it's for all the Qatar Residents. You must have a QID, then you can participate.
