Dear QL,

IN Deep Greivance, i would like to put forth a friend's experience in Qatar. He was working in Dubai and got transferred to Qatar, after signing the contract for 2 years he realized that the sponsor has changed. he was provided third party internet and telephone sim form the co. He was getting salary from dubai till Nov. 09, but after that there was no pay. He contacted the dubai office for salary, but MD was blaming the recession and debts. He couldn't pay the internet and telephone bill after Jan. '10. He is a straight forward guy, and tried for job from June '10. now his visa is getting over on august '10, not sure to get NOC or transfer. the sponsor is asking to clear the telephone and internet bill, he has no money for his daily living he is in debt. His contract is QAR. 8000/- plus accomodation, flushed from the accomodation in June '10. this friend is married and have 2 dependants. This pathetic situation, his intention is to get a job and get sponsor transfer. Else, he can approach officials for his remuneration as he is completing his one year and his visa is expering on august '10, but the contract signed is till August '11. IN this tenure he has taken two and a half months leave in two stages one in Dec. '09 for fifteen days and April '10 Two months. Please help him with ur serious advice.

1. Does he have a legal contract or valid contract here in Qatar (and when started?)

2. Who is his sponsor, local company?

If his contract is legitimate and it's the company not following it, then he can go to the Labor department and Human Right's and make a formal complaint!
