cross country doha to dubai
Dear QL Fellah,
Im planning to travel to Dubai by land with my family (with 2 children)for a whole week vacation, is it safe? how about crossing saudi boarder, are they strict to expats? is there any trouble that we might encounter before allowing us to cross their boarder (visas will be taking cared of by my employer). how about road conditions? is there any diners/convenience store along the road and petrol stations to refill. Anyone who might have done these before need your valuable advice and info please. Thanks guys:-)

How far is from Doha to Dubai by car?
Thanks for the info. I will check my Car Insurance if it covers the travel out of Qatar.
Your car will not be insured to travel through Saudi - I think you need to purchase insurance at the border.
Marhaba Terramax,
Thank you very much for the very usefull info.
No problems at all. Just don't forget to fill up your car before getting to Abu Samra. Also - don't count on ANY facilities neither in Qatar nor in Saudi. Once you cross the border to UAE, it is as elsewhere in the West.
The trip is absolutely safe, although boring - the 350 KM in Abu Dhabi is not a joke. I would advise to leave very early (around 5 AM). In this case you might get to Dubai around 2-3 pm.
Roads: in Qatar a big part of Salwa Road is still under construction - be careful. In Saudi - road is absolutely ok. In UAE - you'll see it and feel the difference.
