Exchanging driver's license

Qatar would exchange a Canadian driver's license without having to go through a driver's examination.

IF I come from Canada and get a Qatar driver license, will Qatar ministry of transportation automatically send my Canadian license back to Canada for cancellation?

Or they keep it here in Qatar?

On the otherhand, if I bring just a photo copy of Canadian license (after cancelling it in Qatar) will that be acceptable to exchange my license with Qatar driver's license.

I would appreciate your response.

You will hold both the licenses, you just need to show your original license to get Qatar License and not surrender to authorities. Also you need to bring Original License other it is not possible to get Qatar license without test.

A British license is converted not exchanged. I am assuming it's the same for Canadians
