Exiting Qatar
Hey All,
I am a Spanish passport holder and have decided to hand in my resignation at my company as production engineer. I am planning to work for another company, but only after a well deserved 1 month break where I will be going to Spain. I currently have a signed 1 year contract for a house, as well as a phone line and internet connection under my name/ID.
Once I receive my final settlement and exit permit from my current company, will I have any trouble at the airport to leave the country due to not shutting down my phone/internet and not resolving the housing issue? Of course, I will continue to pay it while I am away.
Please let me know as I dont want to find any surprises.
Thanks!
So basically I just need to close my Ooredoo accounts and I can leave. Great! I dont even know my landlord, i got the house through a real estate, I bet they wont even know Im gone! :)
Before leaving the country, visit any Ooredoo branch and make sure you pay their dues, and the best thing is to cancel the service and when you come back you can apply new connection,reason...you never know your landlord might cancel the building while you are away and he'll report you as runaway with his dues as well as Qtel...and then Interpol will hunt you down if you're out of Qatar..however you'll be blocked in the airport can't Exit..
I think you must check with Ooredoo ..... You need to close it ..

I dont think that the house should be an issue as there are no official system linked to those payments just inform your landloard that you will be on vacation and will continue to pay they dont care as long as they have the money :)
As far as I know, if you resigned before they give you all the settlement and exit permit you have to give clearance from the bank, if you have and also clearance in Ooredoo. That's what I know,,
