High Kahrama September 2010 bill

Just receieved my villa's Kahramaa bill for Sep 2010. For electricity, the Sep consumption is shown as 10,877 units (QR 928) which is extremely high and unusual. Our Sep consumption was the lowest of the summer and the consumption of units reflects 4 times the amount for August. Similarly, water consumption of 48 units (QR 211) is 4 times that of August, compared to the previous months.

Clearly, as the summer heat goes down, we are using less and less of electricity (and water). Is this a meter problem? Or have Kahramaa's policies changed suddenly? Is anybody else facing this problem for their latest Kahrama Sep bills?

Our usual monthly bill was coming around 200-300QAR and suddenly for September it was 1860QAR. That is even more strange as we were on vacation for more than 18days in September with every thing in the apartment shut down.

Where to get explanation?

thanks for the insight guys...for someone new in doha like me, it certainly is helpful. the problem is that I rented my house effective August 1, and should only be liable for the months of Sep and Aug. Whereas it now seems that they have added up the whole summer's bill into the current one probably including prior months. Any fair formula for asking the landlord to share this bill (which is shown as QR 1,431 for Elec/Water for 'Sep' and 'arrears' prior to it)? I feel I have not used more than QR350 per month.

I think there had been some adjustments. My bill had been only QR 10 from may (my new residance) and In August i got a bill in excess of QR 800. And in September I got a bill closer to 300.

It seems like they have started working after the summer.

Master Roy explained it. They wont bother to come & check the meter reading in summers...will send you an assumed amount of bill (calculated on the basis of your average usage during past few months), then will sum up all the units consumed in one bill, once summer is over.

for Senior LNG advisor like you, i think it is piece of cakes to pay that amount. won't you ? Even i think kahramaa paid by your company, right ?

People working in Kahrama $ucks... Just like every other government organization. They will not take monthly reading and will send you approx (or should I say ASSUMED) bill. Then later on when they took reading, already at that time the meter reading has gone much up. That is the time when we the consumers suffer.

I called them up and they said this is the reading on your meter and they wont listen to you.

why u r crying here, just check ur metres and if the reading is different ,then go to kharma office at c ring road and ask for correction, they will send a person and he will get ur reading and they will give u coorect bill, b,t w, if u make payment, then it will be adjusted in your next bill, kharma never charge a single dhram more then your actual consumption,
