I want my body back.. ......

Elegance
By Elegance

Dear friends,
I have decided to start with my weightloss programme today.I am 90 Kilos :-( and should ideally be 67 kilos. My target is to be 70 kilos.

I have been overweight for the past 12 years and it has taken away a lot from my life and youth. I do not want this to continue and spoil whatever is remaining.

Being hypothyroid.Gone through two miscarriages and a 6 months bed rest. Mom of a special needs child. And love being the provider of food to family, friends and neighbours......

Today morning drank a cup of green tea and inaugurated the programme :-)
I really dont know what to eat and what not to eat.

Please put in your suggestions, tips, success stories and failure stories.
Back home, I would have had the support of my parents and sisters. But now I am looking up to you all for some motivation.

all the fad diets stress how their (costly) systems can help you reduce weight.

This is nonsense, only way is to cut down what passes thro' your mouth and exercise more.

How can this be done? Easy! Eat stuff like hard biscuits. ryevita etc., which take a lot of chewing, when u feel hungry, this actually cuts down your calorie intake as the time between the time u take to consume food and your brain's response saying I'm no longer hungry is lengthened. Eat low calorie stuff like tomatoes, celery etc.

Take the stairs, not the lift, take stairs two as a time, anything which increases the exercise level.

Above all take a record every day, your weight will fluctuate but the downward trend will stiffen your resolve! Don't worry if you have a day when you exceed your calorie intake target, if you have a basic strategy u will succeed

I have a Liv-52 stacked somewhere along with my medicine stock.I have a sluggish liver, especially after the Gall Bladder surgery around 9 years back, plus overeating, lack of excercise, depressed mental frame, etc.

BAK I dont exactly understand what you mean by "having a banana early in the morning" ;)

Bozzini...hope those are not naughty videos...lol

...Body...ok lets get a little serious.

Below are my experiences with "weightloss".

1. You have to understand that you are eating more than your body needs. Maybe you were active before and now not so active and slowly the pounds started piling.

2. You have to admit you LOVE eating. Most fat people love eating, myself included. So talking about dieting is not practical (ie one can control only for a certain months).

3. Exercise is an excellent way. But its obvious that time doesnt permit you (same me). Walking/Jogging is safe only around Villagio or corniche...try some place else you might get run over by a car..also the weather here can be big factor.

3. Dont rely on the scale to check your weight. Your eyes will be able to tell you when you are loosing. Fat starts to accumulate on your full body (and not only on certain parts as most people would tell you) from your face to your toes. Fat is also has more volume and less weight. So if you loose even a kilo of pure fat that's great!!!

4. Do a blood report. Keep that in file to verify after one month.

5. Cleanse your stomach every morning by drinking at least 2 glasses of warm water.

6. Cleanse your liver with Liv52 or something similar. This is very very important. (even if you dont consume alcohol) And a one time 30 day course is good enough to clean the liver.

http://liv52.com/

There are a lot of Ayurvedic liver tablets other than Liv52 in India. They are not available in Qatar for sure.

7. Eat only 2 times. You can eat anything from Fast Food to Heavy food, Icecream etc. In the first week when there is the urge to eat in the evenings sleep early.....if you still "feel" hungry drink a big glass of milk.

8...After one, 2 or 3 months.. Check your blood. The difference in the blood test are immediately visible...It would shock you to see how much difference the liver makes to our body.

You also become healthy and less prone to minor illness like common cold & cough.

This is a GOOD eating HABIT that can last you a life time irrespective of where you are.

Its also a habit you have to teach your kids.

The best thing about this is you dont have to give up any particular food and you can eat as much you want 2 times Morning & Lunch.

Please note eating has to be Morning & Lunch and no dinner. You cant change it. Its according to your body clock which again is connected to the Solar system and sun.

The Thing You all need to do is walking or jogging for 20 minutes and exercise if u can.

As ishqia said Loosing weight is not at all ...

Loosing weight is not at all easy

so firstly u need strong determination

secondly brisk walking or jogging for 20 minutes and exercise if u can.

Drink good amount of water after waking up on empty stomach or after ur walk

and gradually decrease ur food intake

have 3 meals

have a good break fast ,

good lunch, but not a heavy one

dont drink water after food

green tea is good u should continue with it.

avoid junk, fatty and fried food, as well as sweet dishes

if u really cant control eat little quantity and follow it up with hot water or green tea..

keep a good store of fruits and vegetables

and whenever u feel hungry in between eat them

for dinner reduce ur intake, for eg if u r taking 2

rotis ,reduce to 1 and half ,after a week to one ,

i know a person who lost a good amount of weight just by skipping his dinner and brisk walking and slight diet control,

if u r determined u will achieve it

continue ur diet for a month or two, u will surely see some result,

I SAY PLEASE DO NOT SKIP YOU FOOD. TAKE FOOD TIME TO TIME BUT NOT JUNK ANY....

SHOULD jogging for 20 minutes and exercise 45mints to 1hr per DAY.. Should be inbetween 5am to 6.30m

JUST KEEP DOING THIS ....you will feel after a2monts.....

Thank You

Just follow what ur heart says..never indulge in over eating..try to have as much meal more than 4meals a day but in moderate quantity..never keep ur stomach empty..as one QLer said, never skip ur breakfast..have ur proper lunch..avoid eating heavy foods during night...increase ur fruits intake..and yes, drink water as much as u can...

Break your 3 meals into 6-7 (hope you understand)

Aviod - Oil, Sugar, Chocolate, Cheese, Full fat milk and related products, Fried food and specially fast food.

Anyway it's better to meet a dieteeciann and get advices. He will give you a diet plan and will monitor the progree and adjust it time to time.

I know it will not be easy to follow a tight diet plan. when you start and when you see the progress you will love to follow that. when you reduce your 1st 10kgs you can have normal food occasionally (weekends, parties, etc)

good luck

1. Skipping meals is a big no no. You skip a meal and you slow down your natural body metabolism. Eat smaller meals but never skip one.

2. Since Dinner should be the smallest meal of the day, you can substitute it with Fruits or Juice. But, don't skip a meal. Eat dinner 3 hours before you plan to sleep.

3. Drink a lot of water ( preferably chilled or cold ).

4. Best time for exercise is in the morning as that increases your body metabolism and keeps it running for the whole day as long as you keep giving it small snacks on the way.

Elegance, I would suggest for you to research food. There are a lot of foods, if taken together, that promote weight loss. Of course, rigorous and daily exercise is a must.

About the exercise, the most important thing is to "engage" your muscles, you must feel them woking while you exercise. Just going through the motions will not do a thing for you.

It will hurt in the beginning, but it HAs to, slowly you will get stronger, once you do not feel any pain or strain, it is time to make the exercise more strenuous.

Good luck.

First of all congratulation on starting the fitness regime.I also had 97 kg and come doen to 83 to 80. Let me tell you few things to keep in mind.

1. Never skip breakfast not even lunch as suggested by DARUDE.

2. Always eat wisely and shun fatty food.

3.Don't overeat.

4. Take food on time.

5. Includes lot of vegetables and fruits don't drink juice or areated drinks

6. Walk at least for 30 minutes

7. Don't expect the result overnight.

8. Eat less at night.

9. Take skim milk rather whole milk.Whole bread then white one. Brown rice then white rice etc

10. Learn and educate yourself about food & exercise through internet.

11. Start with light exercise and slowly increase it.

I was 55kg during school days, then 57 in college, 52 after I started working with night duties, 52 pre-marriage, reached 63 at end of my pregnancy, started loosing weight after delivery taking care of baby all alone, was 50 till 2 months back, now again 53kg......so my conclusion, sleep deprivation makes me lose weight.
