Hi all,
I find this forum very interesting, if anyone can answer my questions it will be highly apreciated.

I got a contract as a risk analyst in doha, the job level is 5 what does it mean ? The job levels here in Canada (Quebec) are completely different.

I should go to Doha by the end of Novembr 2007 but I read that the work visa can take between 4 to 8 weeks is that true?

Is there anyone who can give me advice for a good price/quality golf club, I had 4 handicaps & I want to restart playing once I am there.

Thanks a lot.....

Oryx said More Canadians?????????? ...

Golf is boring

Candians are boring and have such limited social skills.

Canadians make you like Americans. I actually feel sorry for the Americans when Canadians get mistaken for Americans.

If we MUST have yet more Canadians can we have some lively, interesting ones with personality - like Gypsy......... please?????????

Did someone spilled your morning English tea in your lap????

depends on who you are working for.

Companies have different gradeing structures.

Levels within companies goes to salary grade.

True about the visa - could be sooner but could also be longer.

Here is some info about the Doha Golf Club

Hope this helps. Best of luck.

hellooo Oryx,

I have a feeling that some canadian has had some deep effect on you coz I see no need for you to talk this way about canadians. You know there are 32 million canadians, if you met 1,2, 3......100 canadians, it does not make a rule. Anyway, I don't know any British people, I never judged a particular population, but if I base myself on the way you answered me, I can only judge and say that British people are very narrow-minded and should be more polite....BUT I am certain it is not the case for all British people...but anyway thanks for your help!!!

Ironically enough I HATED seinfeld....the funniest thing in the world to me is: MONTY PYTHON! LOL

Stay safe all.

Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?

Canadians like Americans often don't get the subtleties of irony....

And the Americans do have some funny things like Seinfeld but then shows get massively over rated and it puts me off.

Sorry I will stay patriotic in my humour... I still think Little Britain is excellent.

But admittedly our humour is much more subtle than our neighbours to the south!

Stay safe.

P.S. thanks for the vote of confidence...I think =p

OK - a little bit of RR too.

But Canadians are so humourless.... they are comatosing company.

ok apart from two writers Annie Proulx and Magaret Atwood.

They are a dull race you have to admit - no humour.

The jobs levels thing is for salary categories I believe, but i'm not sure as my company doesn't use them.

Work Visa are supposed to be max 4 weeks, but I have heard it take from 3 days to 3 months! so it depends on your WASTA (a term you will learn soon lol).

As for golf....i'm not a fan, but as far as I know there is only one club in Qatar....perhaps i'm mistaken and someone more knowledgeable can correct me.

Anyways, wish you the best of luck in your move to Qatar.

Stay safe.
