any body heard of the new rule, no expats are allowed to leave the country (by driving) if the car has a loan, unless it is approved by the bank with a letter, i think getting this letter will be a big headache..anyone can advise if have info about this.

i know it is an old rule, but it was not applicable before, i heard that effective may they are stopping people on border and sending them back, i have used my car to go to lebanon more than 6 times, never got this type of letters...

if you still have car loan you need noc from bank to drive away with it.

this has come into notice, when after economical collapse in dubai, people left their vehicles at the airport and escaped out without informing the banks, almost all of them were under debt.

If you wanna be sure get a letter but in my last trip to Dubai a couple of months ago nobody asked me for anything

This is not a new rule i guess your new to Qatar u need to have connection in your bank i got the letter in one hour to KSA GOOD LUCK

This is not a new rule at all, firstly i went to Saudi Arabia without the NOC, went to the Bank too, they said no need for the NOC... this i am talking about Last Month...

No one stops at the Qatar Border, and if even you need a NOC, they can provide in a day or soo, atleast my bank does it in 2 hours Max... :)

yeah thats true..u need to obtain NOC from your Bank who has given you loan as well as from your employer as well........
