MAC lovers

Dear MAC lovers,
My daughter has a Mac & she was not able to download Itunes anymore. Which for her was a major disaster. She took it to the shop where they had to reformat it. She was able to save everything onto her external hard drive. But by reformatting it she lost all her software, ie. word, excell etc.(program). They did not reinstall them for her. Does this mean she has to buy all these programs again? This could be quite costly. Do any of you have an idea how she can get them again? Do any of you have these programs which she can install? Please help.
Thank you.
Thank you guys. However Sun (openoffice) is not compatible with my PC (HP) nor with her University computers. I tried it before as my pc did not come with Windows either. So either she needs to buy the Windows again QR 1600.- or if any of you have a copy I/she can download????

For word, spreadsheet, presentation OpenOffice can be another option. IT Is FREE. I use it for my Windows OS. It also supports Mac Os. You can directly download it from Apple website. Openoffice is exactly like microsoft Office. Please read the system/memeory requirement before installing it.

If you already saved everything into an external harddisk, you can just load all the music into the iTunes. I think when you first install iTunes, it asks question if you want to bring your music from a location. There you can specify your external disk information

Hope it helps.
Cheers
Not only that ..she will have to buy all the Itunes songs too...for how much 99Cents per song ?....Or is there a discount for bulk purchase?...lol
Apple is yesterday's technology with tomorrow's mask & patents for a lifetime.
Reformat the hard disk to reinstall a mediaplayer!!! It could keep me away from that software for my life!
Itunes ....phew!
visit www.freemacware.com...there's a bunch of stuff there...or you can go to download.com and get stuff from there (but be sure to select the Mac software tab first). You can get pretty much everything on your mac between the two. Good luck...
...and remember, whenever a mac is mistreated, God kills a kitten :(
all i do is click on update software and the software starts updating downloadin on the system.
The problem is she bought her Mac in Switzerland and all her disks & programs are there. So you see our problem....

She should not have to buy them again if she has the original installation disks.
Did you Google it first?
