new in doha and already not liking it AT ALL!!!

was told to lower my expectations in everything, but didnt realise it would be THAT low.

dont even know where to start it from to describe the absurds thta i have seen since I got here 3 days ago. and for what I have been reading on this website... maybe I should have demanded an even higher salary.

WISH YOU ALL OUT THERE (AND MYSELF) LOOOTS OF PACIENCE!

as you said uve been here for just 3days. iam sorry to say that 3 days are just NOT enough to judge what this place is like.

iam here with my husband and baby, thou with family status, it took me at least 3-4 months to adjust to this place. new culture, new nature, new people new weather,

new new new.. every was new and strange and NO FRIENDS!!!!!

belive me it felt like a prison. i couldt judge cus i didt know much about this place. now thanks to GOD I made it. it has been almost a year, since i moved here. i now know some people here and know how to get my self around places to do my daily activities but yet iam still adjusting to this country.

my advice to you is to give it a lil time, before making any judgement or decision. take it easy and relax.

i know it will NEVER feel as good as home, but you can

make it feel like home with the time and find happiness

good luck

action speaks louder than words

The botom line is that you signed a contract and were happy with the salary prior to getting here..

So now, stop worrying about what others are earning and just get involved with the place..

I cannot accept you saying that Qatar is a bad place and that it is LOW. Have some respect for us locals that are here and yeah vent, but not in such a negative way. People would love to be in your place - so if you don't like it that much, Leave.

Simple, leave.

if you come from the Bouvet Island(as your profile says), this must be Paradise. It takes a time to get used to the Middle East and Doha, but really it is great. Much Better than Bouvet Island(i've been there once as part of an expedition :) _

Oh I see, and after reading all the comments in QL on salary that you should follow suits to demand more. Too late however if your expertise is really needed, try to make a false attempt to leave and see what your employer thinks. Don't go too far else you'll lose everything

You said, "isn't this website a place we can ....and get help and information?"

What is your question? What do you need help with?

If you can give specifics, maybe others can help?

believe me... if I wasnt resposible and commited enough to the people who are counting on me here I wouldnt stay here... unfortunatelly they need me in the company here so...at elast I will make sure they wont get in trouble after I leave. And believe me, spoke to quite a lot of people who lived here, and I had an idea o what to expect.

anyway, isnt this website a place we can open up about being here, our experience and get help and information? I didnt knwo it was a website to massage local egos...

I am just being honest... letting out the steam.

It may be absurd to be in that position of expecting to much. Its only who could change the picture perfect to an acceptable and reasonable enough image. You can always go back to where you belong if you dont want it here.

But I must this, There are nice things here that you may not find it yet but I assure you that you would and it would be unique than that were you may have come from.

Peace! :-)
