My friend, a Mechanical Engineer, recently got a job in Qatar. The salary is around QAR 12,000.

But he has been informed that only Managers are eligible for Family visa in Qatar and Engineers are not eligible.

    Please guide

Whatever the rules are, it is always different based on the people working on the counter, some of them good and some of them angry. Try again after 3 weeks with different counter. BTW, I did hear that now immigration has started making it difficult for eligible people to bring their families to Qatar. Reason given by the officer can vary to discourage applicants. Can't say it is true or not, but some rumors.

Hi Arif

Minimum Salary is 10,000 QAR to be eligible for applying for family residence visa & there is no such clause that only managers have the privilege to get their families along in Qatar.

But for a Mechanical Engineer the salary being offered is too less & feel like it would be difficult to manage housing (if not provided by employer) & schooling expenses if your friend is willing to relocate with wife & children.

Please check for the authenticity & review of this employer before on boarding.

I have posted a link below regarding visa requirements:

He should quit the job as soon as possible if he can't get his family here.
