Hi, I am starting a new job withh QF shortly and I am living in the Housing Lot at Education City. I was wondering if anybody has any useful tips/hints about things to do, recreation etc.

how easy is it to get into the city center without a car?
What kind of services are available for staff?

I will consider buying/renting a car in the future but not likely anytime soon. Just worried I might be a little isolated or bored once I settle in.

All/any useful info appreciated! thanks ppl

Without a car, it is very difficult to go after the Lulu Express from this place. So only I decided to move to Al Saad. It is very nice place to live. We have access to any area in Doha. You will get public transport service from any place here. Try to find a place anywhere out of ECCH. Good Luck..!!!

I had a feeling the transportation was not so good. I have seen a lot of complaints regarding the Taxi services. Getting driving lessons, License and then Car will take some time...

But I read private taxi drivers is a decent but can be risky option. I need to find a decent driver at some point

you will need a car, since public transportation here in qatar is terrible and not commuter friendly.
